Many unis spawn a group of like-minded people who hang around together, with interests including science fiction/fantasy, gaming, SCA, role-playing, juggling, computers, writing, reading, and generally being wierd. These groups (based on the three I know of :-) ) tend to occupy some neglected corner of the uni and make it their home - hence Second Floor, The Rubble, and Korner.
hybrid_beast, Sydney Uni has something similar, right ? Anyone in other places know of similar groups ? How about in the UK, do similar groups form here ?
